A tragedy shook the town of Rio Claro in São Paulo (Brazil) this Sunday. Kelly Stefani de Oliveira Alves, aged 38, lost her life after losing balance and falling from the Ponte do Esqueleto, located between Cordeirópolis and Limeira.
The accident occurred around 10 AM, when Kelly, who was cycling with her husband, stopped to put away her cell phone. At that moment, she lost her balance and plummeted from a height of approximately 27 meters. The rescue team from the Fire Department arrived quickly at the scene but unfortunately found the victim already deceased.
The impact of the fall caused an immediate cardiopulmonary arrest, and despite the efforts of two rescue vehicles, nothing could be done to save her life. Kelly’s bicycle was found next to her body on the ground.
A resident of Rio Claro, Kelly was known in her community for posts about her cycling adventures on social media. In one of her last posts, she reflected on the importance of cherishing every moment: “Ride, contemplate, and be thankful. Value today. When we understand that each additional day is actually one less, we start to appreciate what really matters.”
The news of her death brought great sorrow among friends and followers. On Instagram, many left messages of condolences and sadness. “Rest in peace, friend,” wrote one user, while another commented: “Such sadness. Rest in peace, witchy.”
Kelly leaves behind a 7-year-old son. Her body was sent to the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office (IML) for necessary procedures.
